Your information
Health information notice
Last updated: 31 August 2026 · Dharmamurti Pty Ltd
Why this notice exists
Information about your smoking and your quit attempt is health information under the Australian Privacy Act. That's a higher bar than ordinary personal information: we have to tell you plainly what we collect, ask before we collect it, and only use it for what you signed up for. That's what this page does.
What we collect
- Your quit date, how much you smoked, and what you spend on tobacco.
- Cravings, triggers, moods and daily check-ins that you enter yourself.
- What you write to the AI coach, and notes you save in the app.
- Basic account details — email, display name — and usage of app features.
We do not collect or track your weight, and we don't ask for a medical history, Medicare number or any clinical records.
What we use it for
Only to run the app for you: showing your progress and savings, tailoring the coach and daily mentor to your situation, sending the reminders you turned on, and keeping the service working and secure. Your quit information is never sold, and it is never used to target advertising to you.
Who can see it
- You. Your records are locked to your account at the database level.
- Our AI provider, for the moments you use the coach or mentor. Your messages are sent to generate a reply and are not used to train public models.
- Our hosting and email providers, strictly to store data and send the messages you asked for.
- Anything you post in the community or a Smoke Circle is visible to other members of that space. Don't post anything there you wouldn't want them to see.
Advertising and analytics tools we use receive event counts and, where you signed up through an ad, a hashed version of your email. They never receive your cravings, triggers, coach conversations or quit records.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open, because your history is the product. Delete your account and we delete your quit records, check-ins and coach conversations. We keep payment records only as long as Australian tax law requires.
Your choices
You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account, ask for a copy of what we hold, or ask us to correct it. Email support@quitcoaching.com.au and we'll action it. Withdrawing consent means we can no longer run the app for you, so the account closes with it.
Not a medical service
QuitCoach is coaching and education, not healthcare. Nothing in the app is a diagnosis or a prescription, and no clinician reviews your entries. For medical advice see your GP or pharmacist, call Quitline on 13 78 48, or in an emergency call 000.
